Am I Satisfied with The Things They Carried?

Honestly speaking, I cannot give a black or white answer on whether I was satisfied with this book or not. My feelings strongly lay in this grey area that isn't necessarily neutral - it's just that I don't feel strongly about both liking or disliking this particular novel. I feel this way because the book just didn't strike any emotions in me all that much. This might of been the case because I have never had much interest in the subject of war and war experiences. It's never peaked my interest and I never felt much need to pursue an interest in it. I want to make it clear though that I'm glad Tim O'Brien shared his stories and experiences because I personally believe it's important to share feelings instead of keeping all inside as I found that bottling things up don't always lead to positive emotions - though it does depend on the person and their mental fortitude. Overall, it is a good novel that is written with wonderful description and meaning but it just doesn't fit my taste as a novel that strikes me as unforgettable or extremely significant.
